KYLIE
Hi there! My name is Kylie. I am a 30-something year old mom of 2 girls. My husband and I have been married for going on 11 years and we live a very happy and intentional life in Northwest Illinois right on the Mississippi River. We own a 5-acre property where we have a very large garden, too many laying hens, honey bees, and raise hogs and Cornish Cross chickens for meat. I love to cook, bake, can, knit and read! Besides that, I am very active in my church and work full time in several hospitals as a nurse practitioner. The Homestead Connection is an extension of the passion and excitement I have for self-sustainable living. I feel so blessed to be able to help create such an amazing community for people and families on any stage of their homesteading or self-sufficiency journey! Feel free to connect with me on a closer level over at my Instagram account @abneyacres.

LEEANN
Hi, I’m LeeAnn from Tommy Sue’s Homestead. I am a 30-year-old mom of 2 with another one on the way. My husband and I have been together for almost 6 years, we live on a 6-acre plot in Ohio. We are a first-generation homestead family. We have too many egg laying hens to count, along with 2 ducks. We raise pigs and chickens for meat and have also tried our hand with turkeys as well. We are currently growing our skills in gardening, hunting, canning/preserving and baking from scratch. I’m also trying my hand at sewing and sourdough. To add to the craziness of our lives we homeschool our children and have my own personal training business. I am excited to share and grow along with all of you in The Homestead Connection and so blessed that God chose me to help bring this idea to life. If you’d like to connect further feel free to give me a follow over at @lifethefullerway.

BRENNA
Hi! My name is Brenna, and I am so excited for this new opportunity to connect with other homesteaders and homestead enthusiasts here on The Homestead Connection. I am a mom of two wonderful boys and have been married to my amazing husband for almost 23 years. After getting married, my husband and I spent about 12 years in the military and in that time moved to Europe and back. Once stateside, we quickly realized we wanted to lead a more self-sustaining and community sustaining life but we live on only a 3rd of an acre in suburban Colorado. Not ready to uproot our family, we have made do with what we have. In our back yard we are raising chickens and ducks, planting a healthy size garden, and have honeybees. I am always learning new skills and working to make this home off grid capable is a full-time hobby. If you would like to connect with me on Instagram, I would love to meet you! You can find me @my_suburban_offgrid_journey.

STEPHANIE
Hey y’all! My name is Stephanie. I’m a 30-something year old from Northeast Texas. I live on 3 acres with my husband and our daughter. We both work full time and homeschool our daughter. On our 3 acres, we have over 800 sq ft of garden space with plans to expand, multiple breeds of chickens that free range, Nubian / Boer mixed goats, and occasionally dorper sheep. Some skills that I have learned to this point of my life are canning food, hunting, fishing, sourdough baking, and cooking from scratch. The majority of our meat supply is from wild game that we hunt. I have been slowly working toward off grid “backup” options for our homestead. To follow along this journey we call life, find me on Instagram @humble_texas_roots.
